An Amicable Divorce Is Possible For You

Divorce Mediation Services

Getting divorced doesn’t mean giving up agency.

People going through a divorce often struggle with a fear of the unknown. Will their divorce be a story of division and devastating loss? All of this uncertainty and transition can leave you feeling anxious and alone. Conflict doesn’t have to define your divorce. Divorce doesn’t have to drain you. And no one should have to move forward without confidence.

We Help People Who Are Experiencing:

  • Drawn out divorce cases

  • Unaffordable legal fees

  • High conflict/stakes divorces

  • Alimony complications

  • Co-parenting disagreements

  • Fear of the unknown

When my own friends or family members are looking for a mediator, I send them to Haas Mediation.”

We help people through divorce one step at a time.

If you’re going through a divorce, you’re probably wondering what you can do to make it as amicable as possible. But divorce is complicated, and you were unprepared for the amount of conflict it would bring with it. You’re stressed and concerned (rightfully so) about what the future will hold.

I founded Haas Mediation to help people in your situation maintain agency amidst a chapter where it feels like your voice is being taken away. At Haas Mediation, we are state-certified trainers and Ivy League-certified mediators. We earned our stripes mediating in the diverse boroughs of New York City and serve people from every walk of life. We support clients through in-person and online separation & divorce mediation, parenting plan (custody & visitation) mediation, spousal & child support mediation, and more. Time and time again, we help our clients transform differences into areas of mutual direction.

To us, client-centered means that supporting you remains our sole focus from beginning to end. We believe you know your life and what works best for you more than anyone else. As mediators, we support you and make opportunities to realize your vision tangible.

We’ve done our best to inform you of our services here, but if you have any additional questions, you can reach me directly at andrew@haasmediation.com.

Clear and Supportive Process

Complimentary Call

I’ll take 15 minutes to understand your situation, identify challenges, and help outline clear next steps. This is an opportunity to begin offloading the weight of the unknowns and start moving forward.

Consultation Session

The consultation session allows us to get acquainted and for you to fully explore the process. During the consultation, you’ll receive:

  • A clear outline of the process (topics, needed information, & end products, etc.)

  • An overview of how mediation can support you

  • A time and price estimate

  • Ample time for your questions

  • The chance to broach sensitive topics in private before meeting with your partner in mediation.

Mediation Meetings

Usually, couples without children need 3 to 5 sessions to complete the process. Couples with children usually take 5 to 10 sessions to finish. Sessions generally last 1-2 hours.

It’s substantially cheaper than litigation and is tailored to your needs, communication, and precious resources.

You determine the pace and only pay for what you need.

Receive Final Draft of Divorce Agreement and Plan

At the end, you receive a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which is a formal but non-binding agreement outlining your decisions in detail. For a final safety measure, a paralegal or attorney formalizes the MOU into your final separation agreement and files it for you.

You are finished and can move into the new chapter you authored.

Andrew was a life-saver in helping us get through a sticky situation. Would recommend him strongly to anyone needing a mediator.”
